G1, G8, G9 Supervisor Course
Formally S1, S2, S3
This course is designed to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge to effectively undertake the role of a Supervisor. Participants will gain the expertise required to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Supervisor, including risk identification, implementation of risk management strategies, and conducting health and safety investigations. Formerly known as S1, S2 & S3 training, this course is ideal for those supervising operational staff and seeking to enhance their leadership in safety and compliance within the mining sector.
Learners cannot attempt their assessment for the course until training has successfully been completed. Should re-assessment be required the fee is $450.00 payable before the attempt at assessment is conducted.
The refresher period for the mining unit(s) is five years, a shorter period may be required where industry/company requirements are applicable. Individuals can refresh their competencies anytime within the five-year period in line with these industry/company-specific requirements.
This course is a requirement of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 Division 2 Section 56 and of the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 Division 2 section 51.

The Supervisor Course training is a required skillset for supervisory roles on mine sites and provides participants with the qualifications needed to step into these positions.
Upon successful completion of the course the student will be issued a Statement of Attainment under the Australian Qualifications Framework, this certification is nationally recognised.
In some cases, students may possess skills and or knowledge in the course content. CCT will assess your eligibility for RPL/RCC. Information on RPL/RCC can be found in the CCT student handbook, on our website or by contacting our office.
CCT policy requires students to be a minimum of 18 years of age and have at least a Year 10 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills prior to enrolling and attending this course.
Students are required to wear appropriate clothing including high visibility long sleeve shirt, long pants, work boots, and hard hat during training. Machinery and equipment are supplied when training at our facility. All written material and stationery are supplied for the course. Students must provide their own food; fridges are available onsite. Tea and coffee are supplied by CCT.
